What is your business?

"So Mad Mex is all about serving fresh, healthy, authentic Mexican food to our amigos."

Where are you located?

"We have over 70 restaurants across Australia and New Zealand, and expanding fast."

What do you love about the business and what you do?

"What I love about Mad Mex is that we're very values-driven. So our values are authentic, cheeky, connected, healthy, and own it. And we're all about our purpose-led brand."

What do you look for in the right-fit person to be a franchise owner, can you describe them?

"So to be a franchisee with Mad Mex, you have to be passionate about food and be able to commit full-time to the business and be all about training your team with passion. So we want to find the right fit franchisee who's going to align with our values."

What's a common misconception you believe people have about your brand or niche?

"Probably that they need to have food experience. But they don't necessarily, it's advantageous. We do full training with them. 

And another one probably that they can just own it as an investment, whereas we're looking for someone to have a full-time commitment into the business."

What would be your advice or guidance to people looking to get into their own business?

"Definitely do your research. There's lots of free resources out there online. And also think about your passion. If you're going to be owning a business, putting in your money, you want to do something you're going to love."

What is your key focus for the next 12-18 months?

"Definitely expanding, so expanding all across Australia. We're targeting to get to 150 locations over the next couple of years."
