Who Who Household Services franchise business Q & A

Michael Rantall Co-Founder of Who Who Household Services, joined us for a brief chat at the Melbourne Franchising and Business Opportunities Expo, April 2022.

We covered some of the key aspects of the franchise business including the type of people that are best suited, any common misconceptions about the brand or industry, as well as advice or guidance for anyone looking to get into business for themselves, and more…

What is your business?

"We are Who Who Rug Washing.

We specialise in rug washing, carpet cleaning, upholstery cleaning, leather cleaning, and tile and grout services, home services.

Where are you located?

We're located in Brisbane. We have three premises open in Brisbane, the North side and South Side, and also the Gold Coast.

What do you love about the business and what you do?

What I really love, what we do in our business is obviously helping out our residential clients and commercial clients in the cleaning aspects of sanitising and cleaning and all types of different rugs.

What do you look for in the right-fit person to be a franchise owner?

So what we're looking for is an individual that wants to scale a business.

We're looking for leadership skills, a hard worker, passion, and a positive attitude.

What’s a common misconception you believe people have about your brand or niche?

The biggest misconception with us is that you're purchasing one service.

The difference between our model is that you're purchasing the premises, which has high-tech equipment in regards to that, and then you're building a leadership team with employees where you can scale multiple services.

What would be your advice for people looking to get into their own business?

That it's not easy, and you've got to be a problem solver and it's all about your research.

And then what makes your life work-life balance.

What is your key focus for the next 12-18 months?

My key focus is obviously expanding our company and moving them into different states where success has been in Brisbane, Queensland, and having three operating local hubs that are at full capacity, and knowing that (with) COVID, we've gone through some tough times with COVID with our model.

We've had contactless pick up and drop off service, which in return with your services that go out with the vehicles, it's kept everyone employed and customers are happy with that."
