The most common questions franchisors get asked. At expos in 2022!

Franchising expos have thousands of people walking through across the year, so what questions do they ask franchisors?

We already touched on what dozens of franchisors told me at the expo recently.

How about the public that are interested enough in a franchise to come along?

The business and franchising experience of people attending can run right along the spectrum from no experience at all, right through to exisiting multiple business owners - all looking for that next opportunity.

We asked a bunch of franchise executives at an event while representing their brands, what are the most common questions they get asked.

Greg Prussia, Bedshed

“Net profit.

Is the wage include it in the net profit?

No. The wage is included above the net profit line.”

Damien Owens, OMS Facilities Maintenance

“It have to be in terms of about staffing. Can we provide the service to the customer's needs? Yes, we can, because there's plenty of companies out there looking for work.”

Julian Chong, Accurate Franchising

“The most common question we get asked this weekend would really be what is the process from taking a non franchised brand all the way through to having them ready to be franchisable, and ready to be franchised.”

Roy Ridge, Cone Appetit

“The number one? Where did you come up with the idea?”

Evan Foster, UFG / Signarama

“Most common questions we get asked this weekend where we're located, you know, with Signarama because we've got so many across the country looking at new opportunities is going to be a key thing for people coming in. So they just want to know where the opportunities are really.”

Franchising Expo Melbourne Franchise Buyer 2022

Jason Hood, Pita Pit

“The most common thing we get asked is how much does it cost to get into the business? What's involved in the business? What's the hours that we serve? What sort of locations are we looking for? Just things like that.”

Leo Lazich, Fox Mowing & Gardening

“Oh, today the expo. And I guess in general, I've done expos in the past. You know, it's more about, I guess, people coming in here and getting educated on a whole bunch of different obviously varieties and businesses that they might be interested in, you know.

So, but I guess, you know, upfront costs, ongoing fees…And I guess what a typical day or week looks like in your own business with a business like us.”

Sarah Lamb, SP Screens

“So what is it exactly that you do?

It's probably the number one.

And yeah, I mean, everybody wants to know how much a franchise costs, and then the third one, which is how much money will I make?”
