CIBO Espresso - Combining age old tradition with modern finesse

CIBO Espresso has been bringing Italian luxury to Australian shores for 15 years, taking diners on an adventure with its artisan products, fine Italian coffee and delicious food.

After being acquired by franchise powerhouse Retail Zoo in 2012, CIBO Espresso has become a household name with a solid reputation and is now looking to take the next step in its journey by updating the look and feel of its franchise stores.

Unique stores

CIBO Espresso General Manager Merissa Collins says the brand is aiming to make each of its franchise stores unique to suit each individual site. “CIBO offers a unique Italian style coffee blend, crafted from premium Arabica beans exclusive to CIBO Espresso,” Merissa says.

“The menu takes inspiration from the Italian passion for sharing simple and delicious food. CIBO proudly offers artisan made products crafted to age old recipes with modern finesse. There’s something for any time of day or situation – gathering and sharing with friends or taking refreshment on a busy work or shopping day.”

While CIBO’s core offerings have seen the brand become the success it is today, Merissa says she understands the importance of refreshing the brand and ensuring a franchise does not turn stale.

“The aim of CIBO is not for all stores to be identical replicas of each other, but rather for them to reflect the quirks and eccentricities of each community and area that the store is located in,” she says. “For this reason, we specifically seek out sites and locations that are unique, such as heritage buildings, and ensure that we accentuate these features, rather than hiding them.”

“Many of the existing stores in the network are undergoing refurbishments as the brand matures in the market. Excitingly we also have a number of new stores to open over the coming months and plenty more opportunities for great franchisees to join the CIBO network.”

New menu

The brand’s look is not the only thing changing, according to Merissa with a new menu being launched instore nationally. “The summer menu offers delectable treats, fresh salads and some tasty and hearty new lunchtime choices for even the most discerning of palates,” she says.

“Our coffee blends and food menu will always be a focus and highlight of the brand to ensure that we stay ahead of the game given the competitive landscape in Australia. For more information on Cibo Espresso or to find out more about franchising, visit www.ciboespresso.com.au.
