Aramex courier franchise Q & A, with Glenn Mackay

Glenn Mackay from Aramex courier franchising explained some key detail about the brand in their expansion in the Australian marketplace.

With a low cost entry, Glenn was very open in this brief explainer on the brand.

The brand

"We're Aramex Courier service.

We deliver packages for people that are buying through e-commerce.

What I love.

What I love about the business?

I've been a courier myself and the best part of the business was delivering packages.

Believe it or not, customers are always excited to see you because they bought something online. They might have been waiting a couple of days for it.

It's like being Santa.

Best-Fit People

Our best fit are owner operators, people that want to be involved in the territory that they purchase.

People want to get to know their customers, get to know the streets, yeah - That are really going to be involved in the business.

Want people to know

It's a very low cost entry point for a reasonable return.

We're selling territories for around $10,000. So it's that plus the cost of the van is a minimum investment.

Common misconceptions

Courier Services is an easy one to, I suppose, get negative reviews on.

We deliver 30,000 packages a day.

So if we miss 1% there's 300 customers that have missed out.

So we quite often get a bit of a bad rap. We don't get 29,700 good reviews, but you know, you're likely to get 300 that may have missed out on that day.

Focus going forward

It's really around growth.

COVID proved a tough time for us in regard to we just had too much volume.

We didn't have enough couriers, enough people to deliver it.

So we had to do a bit of a reset, which we've done, we've come through that now.

So now it's a matter of getting some franchisees on board, people that are going to be good representatives of the brand, and winning back some of those customers and start to get those good reviews."
